 Novusweb, a leading Web applications development company, announces the release of www.discoverweimar.com, the latest community site created with the firm's NovusPortal technology. DiscoverWeimar.com is sponsored by the Weimar Chamber of Commerce and is designed to promote Weimar and the surrounding area to visitors and relocating or expanding firms.
"We know the Internet is one of the primary places companies go to find out more about a potential expansion site," said Jim Otto, Chamber president. "We wanted the quality of our lifestyle and community presented in the best light possible."
The Weimar Chamber of Commerce invited Novusweb to Weimar in April to speak to Weimar businesses, and to explore the viability of a joint venture to create the new site. "We were so incredibly overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the Chamber and its members," remarked Bret Williams, Novusweb President and CEO. "Everyone was so friendly, open and supportive of this effort, we just had to do it," Williams adds with a smile, "Weimar has so much to offer those wanting to escape big city pressures and crowds. We hope this site will demonstrate the best Weimar has to offer."
Very soon, www.weimartx.org will also point to the new site, following some technological changes. In the meantime, visitors can view the new site in their browser by going to www.discoverweimar.com. The site has current weather, an up-to-date events calendar, a listing of area businesses, a worship directory, a history section, and lots of area and historical photos.
"We will continue to enhance the site with more information and photos," says Williams, "Karen Beken at the History Society Museum of Weimar provided us with much more information than we were able to initially use on the site. Again, we have been amazed at the level of cooperation and contribution businesses and individuals have made to this project."
The site is supported financially by businesses that purchase banner ads on the site. Initial advertisers included Bugman Inc., Hibernia, Highsmith Builders, Hill Bank and Trust, Hudec’s Service and Supply, Leo Gordon DDS, Lostracco Realty, Seifert and Son, Super 8 Motel, Tri-County Realty, and Wildcat Express.
