Predictions for the 2012 Online Holiday Shopping Season

Forrester, a global research and advisory firm, expects online sales to grow 15% over 2011. And predicts $68.4 billion for sales produced in November and December.

The National Retail Federation, through it’s Shop.org division, predicts a 12% increase for an estimated $96 billion in sales.

Records Set

comScore reports that from November 1 – December 16, 2012, $35 billion has been spent online. This marks a 13% increase over the same period last year.

What Shoppers Expect

Online shoppers are still looking for free shipping. Twenty-seven percent of online shoppers actually add items to their cart in order to meet the minimum free shipping requirement.

Aviation Logs, an online supplier of aviation products including headsets and apparel, is offering up to 40% off through December 23rd.
