US Census Bureau E-Commerce Report

The US Census Bureau E-commerce report for fourth quarter 2011 shows total retail sales of $1.07 trillion, an increase of 1.8 percent from third quarter 2011. The e-commerce sales figures for fourth quarter 2011 increased an estimated 15.5% from fourth quarter 2010.

E-commerce sales accounted for 4.8 percent of the total sales in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The total e-commerce sales were estimated at $194.3 billion, an increase of 16.1 percent from 2010. Total retail sales in 2011 increased 7.9 percent from 2010.
